Last night was the pre-launch party for one of the most anticipated summer restaurant openings here in Washington, D.C. The restaurant of course is Claudia’s Steakhouse, the Latin-infused steakhouse who caught the eyes of the public early on with its tantalizing and stimulating billboard posters. As it turns out, from what I saw, the restaurant is living up to its sexy and sleek reputation. Everything from the décor to the food itself was on par. The main dining room is swimming with white leather booths while the private dining area fills with a contemporary mix of white and charcoal gray seats. The hors d’oeuvres I sampled were all very good, but my favorite by far was the pork belly topped with chimichurri. The bite-size serving was bursting with flavors and had a particularly sublime texture. It literally melted inside my mouth.
